Macau GGR Declines 8.4% in July Despite June Rebound

Macau’s gross gaming revenue totaled US$2.51bn in July 2026, marking an 8.4% decline compared to the same period last year. The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau released the official financial data on August 2.

The July total represents a recovery from the previous month’s performance. Revenue increased by 9.4% compared to June’s US$2.29bn. Average daily gross gaming revenue reached US$81m, a 5.9% rise from the June average.

Analyst Forecasts and Market Expectations

The reported figures exceeded the projection made by CLSA, which had forecast a total of US$2.41bn. CLSA had anticipated a sharper 12% year-on-year decline. Other market observers, including Citigroup and Seaport Research Partners, had predicted drops ranging from 5% to 9%.
